What is Taiyo Weekend?
Taiyo Weekend is a small community event for learners of the Japanese language and fans of Japanese pop culture. It features a mini art and craft market, language meetup, workshops, and fandom gathering.
Taiyo Weekend is a partnership with a café as venue partner.
This application form is for artists, authors, and craftspeople who wish to join the mini art and craft market. There will be separate forms for other activities.
Why join the mini art and craft market?
Low table fee per day: This gives first-timers a chance to start tabling without breaking their budget.
No minimum exhibitor count: The market happens no matter how many sellers will join on that day.
Full café experience (and more!): The table fee covers a drink and a meal. There are also free WiFi and electric outlets available.
Venues
Marikina City
Kafein is a café in the Marikina City proper and an exterior tenant of the Marikina Sports Center. It has become a go-to place for physically-active people, students, freelancers, and even Pokémon fans. Kafein is accessible via the following PUV routes:
- Cubao–Parang or Stop & Shop–Parang (and vice-versa)
- Cubao–SSS Village or Stop & Shop–SSS Village (and vice-versa)
- Cubao–Montalban (and vice-versa)
- Parang–Marikina Bayan via Molave–Meralco
- Antipolo–Marikina Bayan or Paenaan–Marikina Bayan
- Sta.Lucia/Tropical–Marikina Bayan (from LRT Line 2 Marikina–Pasig Station)

We do not allow the display and sale of works with AI-generated content and products with AI-generated material. We support human creators and those that support them.
We reserve the right to confiscate these prohibited items with no guarantee of a refund and ban the creator or merchant from participating in this and all future events.

All exhibitors must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event.
Payment Options
Full Payment
(for 1 to 2 dates only)
Initial payment:
100% of the fee within five (5) days after receiving the confirmation email
Partial Payment
(for 3 or more dates)
Initial payment:
50% of the fee within five (5) days after receiving the confirmation email
Balance payment:
another 50% of the fee on or before the second market date
Refund Policy
All payments are nonrefundable. We will not issue refunds for any reason, including, but not limited to: cancellation of exhibition, failure to settle the remaining balance, and inability to participate on any event day. In addition, postponement of the event (due to force majeure, instances that qualify as acts of God, local and national security concerns, and other serious factors that may affect the health and safety of exhibitors, attendees, partners, guests, and venue employees) does not guarantee a refund. We prepare for the event by making the necessary arrangements with partners and suppliers in advance, and these arrangements require upfront and nonrefundable payments.
